Meet Timiya

My
Story
Timiya Jackson is a mother, DPS parent, and lifelong advocate for young people. From classrooms to community centers, she’s spent her career helping students feel seen, supported, and prepared for their futures. As a former Dean of Students, nonprofit executive, and now a dropout re-engagement specialist, Timiya knows how to build systems that help kids reconnect with learning and thrive.
As a first-generation college graduate who was raised in Atlanta and Pittsburgh, Timiya understands the power of education to transform lives. She’s led programs that expand college and career access, increase mental health supports, and deepen community-school partnerships with a focus on equity, opportunity, and real results.
Now, she’s ready to bring that experience to the Denver School Board. As a parent and policy leader, Timiya is committed to rebuilding trust with the school board, supporting educators, and ensuring every child - regardless of their background - leaves DPS with the education that is best for them, because leaving empty handed is not an option.
